mAh
e.g. a single 18650 cell ≈ 2,600–3,400 mAh.
mA
Radio TX + MCU while awake.
ms
Sample + send + receive.
s
How often the node wakes.
mA
Deep-sleep draw; ~0.01–0.15 mA typical.

Method & assumptions
avg mA = (Ion·ton + Isleep·toff) ÷ T days = mAh ÷ avg ÷ 24

Wake time dominates at short cycles — every-second reporting on Wi-Fi needs mains, not batteries. Battery nodes typically report per minute or slower with deep sleep between.

Engineering aid only — verify results against the applicable code edition and the equipment datasheet before committing to a design.
