Flow-Sensor Calibration

Turn a hall-effect flow sensor's pulse count into a real calibration factor — then convert live pulse rate to litres per minute.

L
Run a measured volume through the sensor.

Read the counter on your data logger.

Pulses per second while flowing.

Method & assumptions
K-factor = pulses ÷ litres Flow (L/min) = (Hz ÷ K) × 60

The same method our ShivOlive™ sensor hubs run in firmware (K ≈ 450–470 pulses/L on the ¾″ sensors we deploy). Recalibrate per sensor — manufacturing spread between units is real.

Engineering aid only — verify results against the applicable code edition and the equipment datasheet before committing to a design.
