Heartbeat & ACK Timeout

How long a sensor hub can stay silent before the head-end declares it offline — sized from your reporting interval, not a guess.

No sign-upRuns offline in your browserFormula shown
s
How often the node sends data (our hubs send every 1 s).
—
Consecutive losses before declaring a fault.
ms
Round-trip on your worst link — rural LTE can be seconds.

Method & assumptions
offline detect = interval × (misses + 1) + latency margin

Application-level ping/ACK (the scheme ShivOlive™ hubs use): the node pings, the head replies ACK, a timeout counter resets. Too tight and a busy link trips false alarms; too loose and a dead node goes unnoticed.

Engineering aid only — verify results against the applicable code edition and the equipment datasheet before committing to a design.
